Bearing Option:
- Includes countershaft bearing and linear shift rail bearing (not installed).
Fits: 2001-2006 Chevy & GMC 2500 & 3500 applications with the 6.6l LB7/LLY/LBZ Duramax or 8.1L with the ZF6 Manual Transmission
Installation instructions:
1. With the old housing removed (hint the large hex bolt, AKA shifter detent must be removed to pull the old housing off). Check that the inside of the new tail housing is clean. Especially the shifter slides and bearing surfaces.
2. Install counter shaft bearing and linear shifter bearing. Hint: Put bearings in freezer overnight.
3. Install idler shaft & gear.
4. Lubricate the shifter slides and bearing surfaces with assembly lubricant.
5. Before bolting the new housing on, apply a light bead of silicone and follow the silicone manufacturers instructions. We prefer Permatex® The Right Stuff®. Reinstall the tail housing and torque the bolts to 30 ft-lbs or 360 in-lbs.
6. Install reverse light switch, shifter detent, exhaust hanger etc.
7. Final assembly of transfer case, driveshaft and fill transmission with oil.
